Software Asset Management, or called SAM, is a software license reporting software to be run by staff in their office PC annually.

According to the Intellectual Property (Miscellaneous Amendments) Ordinance of Hong Kong came into effect on 1 April 2001, anyone who knowingly possesses an infringing copy of a copyright work in the course of business, will commit a criminal offense regardless of whether the business is involved in dealing with the infringing copies.
