Tip 1: Using Survey to do the Quiz

You can start to use the survey function in Poll Everywhere to create the online MC quiz and view the students' progress instantly now! Surveys allow you to ask your participants multiple questions at once. Then, it can help to auto-grade the quiz if you have set the correct answer to the question. You can generate the “Gradebook” report to get the quiz result.


How to create the online MC quiz?

Method 1

1 Click "+".

2 Choose Survey.

3 Input the Survey title.

4 Choose the type of poll.

5 Input the whole Question and options. Check the tick box of the correct answer.

6 Add another questions (if any) and repeat step 3 and 4.

7 Press Create survey.

8 Click the survey name to start editing the survey setting.

9 Click the “Edit” button.

10 You can edit the welcome message and closing message of the survey. Then, press “save”. If you wish to edit questions, you need to edit on per question setting.

11 You can choose show all questions on a single page or on separate pages.

12 To get the survey URL, you can click the “export” button. Then, click “survey link”. People can respond without the survey being active when they using this URL to answer survey.


Method 2

1 You can import your poll from csv first. To know more about import poll, please refer to How-to Poll Everywhere Issue 19 tip2: Import Polls From a CSV File.

Note: Please mark the correct answer on the csv file for the system to recognize the correct answer.

2 Visit your “My Polls” page and group the imported polls to a new group.

3 Change the group name.

4 Click the “Convert to Survey” button.

5 Click the survey name to start editing the survey setting.

6 Click the “Edit” button.

7 You can edit the welcome message and closing message of the survey. Then, press “save”. If you wish to edit questions, you need to edit on per question setting.

How to view the students’ progress instantly?

1 Visit your “My Polls” page and click the survey name.

2 Click “Presentation View”.

3 You can see how many surveys are underway and how many surveys are done on this page.

Note: Remember click the “Lock” button when times up. Otherwise, students can still doing and editing their survey/ quiz.


How to get the quiz result?

1 Click “Reports”.

2 Click “Create report”.

3 Choose “Gradebook”.

4 Select the survey.

5 Poll Everywhere will generate the Gradebook report and grade the students’ result automatically. It will shows scores, participation, and attendance. Sort by rank to use as a leaderboard.
